Other services

Besides PET hot runner refurbishments, we also offer non-PET and Coinjection hot runner cleaning services and overhauls. Tailormade jobs can also be executed, such as thermal cleaning and extrude honing of manifolds and ultrasonic cleaning.

Non-PET& Co-Injection hot runner refurbishments

HRC has gained extensive experience in the field of cleaning & refurbishment of Non-PET and Co-Injection hot runners. HRC provides maintenance & refurbishment services on Husky Non-PET and Kortec Co-Injection hot runners, along with other industry branded hot runners. Kortec nozzle assembly cleaning service is also offered.

Manifold cleaning and inspection

Over the years, HRC has established an optimal thermal cleaning method for hot runner manifolds. Our state-of-the-art pyrolysis oven allows us to guarantee the most efficient and thorough results. This includes the complete non-abrasive removal of all plastic residue and degraded material from all melt channels, with extremely short turn-around times. Following the hot-cleaning process, a complete optical check of all melt channels by a specialized endoscope ensures all channels are free from obstructions and contamination. In addition, all the electric heaters are controlled and all findings and recommendations will be provided in the detailed report.

Extrude honing

The surface quality of a hot runner's melt channels has a direct impact on colour change performance, melt degradation, and parts quality. Additives and abrasive or thermally unstable polymers can erode or get stuck inside melt channels, leading to material inconsistency and contamination issues over time.
Our extrude-honing process uses a chemically inactive and noncorrosive medium, which is used to improve the flow channel surface finish and edge condition. Resulting in faster colour changes & reduced scrap it eliminates material degradation in the melt channel and can positively affect hot runner balance.

Ultrasonic cleaning

HRC is able to clean tooling components and moldshoe plates up to 1.5m x 1.2m in size, using our special magneto-strictive ultrasonic processing line. This sequential system of baths provides the most rigorous nonabrasive cleaning results at low temperatures, and it can handle the most complex geometries. This is also a non-corrosive cleaning process, and it allowing detailed inspection of surfaces, holes, pockets, and cavities while increasing the longevity of molds. Our customized setup ensures the fastest turn-around times.
